1️⃣ General Policy

The Bangladesh Medical Society of Western Australia (BMSWA) is a non-profit professional organisation. All payments made on bmswa.org.au — including membership fees, renewals, and event registrations — help fund community, educational, and social activities for members.

As such, payments are generally non-refundable, except in special circumstances as outlined below.

2️⃣ Membership Fees

  • Membership fees (including renewals) are non-refundable once paid, as member access and privileges are granted immediately.
  • Members are encouraged to review their details carefully before completing a transaction.
  • In the event of an accidental duplicate payment or technical billing error, please contact BMSWA within 7 days of the transaction for review.

3️⃣ Event Registrations

  • Event registration fees are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by BMSWA.
  • If an event is postponed, registrations will automatically transfer to the rescheduled date.
  • Members unable to attend may request a transfer of registration to another member by contacting the organising committee prior to the event.

4️⃣ Refund Eligibility

Refunds may only be issued if:

  1. The payment was charged in error (e.g., system malfunction or duplicate transaction).
  2. The event was cancelled by BMSWA.
  3. The membership was purchased twice accidentally for the same person.

All refund requests must include a proof of payment (Stripe or email receipt).

5️⃣ Refund Process

  • To request a refund, email admin@bmswa.org.au within 7 days of payment.
  • Once approved, refunds will be processed through Stripe back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
  • BMSWA does not charge administrative fees for refund processing in genuine cases.

6️⃣ Non-Refundable Items

  • Annual membership fees once activated.
  • Donations or sponsorship contributions.
  • Event fees for which services or materials have already been provided.
